Outdoor WPC Batten — Natural
Mid-tone honey timber look. The default warm neutral. 60 × 40mm, 3600mm long, fully capped, zero maintenance.
Natural sits in the middle of the range — a warm honey-brown that reads as freshly finished timber rather than a stain or a statement. It's the safest specification in the six and the one that dates the slowest, which is why it's the usual choice for spec builds, rental stock and anywhere the batten needs to work with finishes that haven't been chosen yet.
Key features
- 360° protective capping — fully encapsulated on all four faces and both edges
- Weather and waterproof — won't rot, swell, split or splinter
- UV, sunlight and insect resistant — colour-stable and termite-proof
- No sanding, oiling or lacquering — wash it down and that's the maintenance
About Outdoor WPC Batten
Outdoor WPC Batten is a wood-plastic composite profile engineered for Australian exterior conditions. A core of recycled timber fibre and polymer is co-extruded with a protective cap on all four faces, so there's no exposed core, no seam on the underside, and no weak edge for moisture to find.
That full encapsulation is the whole point. Uncapped composite and natural timber both fail the same way — water and UV get into the fibre, the surface greys, and you're back on a ladder with a sander every couple of summers. Capped WPC doesn't absorb, so it doesn't swell, cup, split or splinter. It won't feed termites and it won't rot.
The structured hollow core keeps weight down to 5kg per 3600mm length — light enough for one person to handle on a ladder — while internal webbing holds the profile rigid across the span. It's a screening and cladding profile rather than a structural member.
Supplied in 3600mm lengths and screw-fixed, the batten suits vertical and horizontal screening, facade cladding, soffits, privacy screens, fencing infill and ceiling battening. Maintenance is a hose-down — no oiling, no staining, no lacquer, no annual re-coat.

Installation and care
Allow for thermal expansion — WPC moves more than timber with temperature change, so leave the specified gap at the end of each run. Pre-drill and screw-fix; don't over-tighten. Cut with a fine-tooth blade. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush; avoid solvent-based cleaners. [FIXING CENTRES + EXPANSION GAP + GUIDE LINK — TO CONFIRM]
