Acoustic Timber XL is designed for interiors that call for a more confident, expansive look. Featuring wider timber slats, this range creates stronger rhythm and visual impact, making it particularly suited to large feature walls, open-plan spaces, and commercial interiors.

Built with real timber veneer and an acoustic felt backing, Acoustic Timber XL balances natural material warmth with sound-absorbing performance. The wider slat profile delivers a cleaner, more architectural expression while still reducing echo and improving comfort within the space.

Each panel is constructed with a moisture-resistant high-density core and finished with five coats of factory-applied lacquer (oil finish). This provides durability, colour stability, and splash resistance for everyday interior use.

Natural grain variation and tonal differences are an inherent part of real timber and are embraced as part of the design, giving each panel a unique, premium character rather than a uniform printed finish.

Acoustic Timber XL is pre-finished and ready to install on walls, ceilings, or joinery. No sanding, staining, or sealing is required, allowing for efficient installation and consistent results across residential and commercial projects.

How do the Acoustic Timber XL panels arrive?

Acoustic Timber XL panels are supplied flat-packed in protective cardboard boxes. Panels are manufactured in a standard size of 2700mm high and can be trimmed to suit your wall height. They may be installed vertically, horizontally, or in custom layouts depending on the design intent.

Do the panels come in larger or custom sizes?

The standard panel size is 2700mm × 520mm. Custom sizes can be arranged for larger projects, with heights available up to 3.5m for orders of 20 panels or more. Custom orders require a lead time of approximately 2–3 months. Please contact us to discuss project requirements.

Can Acoustic Timber XL panels be installed in kitchens or bathrooms?

Yes. The panels are suitable for dry areas and low-moisture environments such as kitchens, powder rooms, and bathrooms, provided they are not exposed to direct or constant water. While the panels are moisture-resistant and splash-resistant, they are not suitable for showers or wet areas. For fully waterproof applications, we recommend our Hybrid Waterproof Wall Panels.

Can the panels be used outdoors?

Acoustic Timber XL panels are intended for interior use only. They may be installed in fully enclosed outdoor spaces that are protected from weather, moisture, and direct sunlight, but should not be exposed to the elements.

What surfaces can the panels be installed on?

The panels can be installed on most interior surfaces, including plasterboard, plywood, MDF, brick, concrete, and joinery. Installation on wall or ceiling battens is also possible, provided batten spacing does not exceed 600mm. When installed on battens, panels are decorative only and are not designed to carry additional loads.

How are Acoustic Timber XL panels installed?

Panels are pre-finished and ready to install. They can be fixed directly to the substrate using wall panel adhesive, mechanical fixings, or a combination of both. Panels can be cut to size using standard woodworking tools. No sanding, staining, or sealing is required.

Are the panels fire rated?

Yes. Acoustic Timber XL panels have been tested in accordance with AS ISO 9705 and achieve a Group 3 fire rating, making them suitable for residential and selected commercial applications where certified wall linings are required.

Do the panels improve acoustics?

Yes. Each panel features an integrated acoustic felt backing designed to absorb sound, reduce echo, and soften reflections within a space. This improves overall comfort in areas such as living rooms, offices, meeting spaces, studios, hospitality venues, and commercial interiors..
